Mr. David Lakin, the charger of educational department of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) was invited by First Landing Education (FLE) to go to China and visited China Academy of Educational Sciences and FLE Chinese office and Zhongguancun Middle School through arrangement by FLE Chinese office, exchanged and discussed with Wang Su, director of China Academy of Educational Sciences STEM education research center (briefly called as academy of educational sciences), on the development of STEM education and bilateral future cooperation direction. Academy of Educational Sciences STEM center, IET and FLE reached highly consensus on international events and STEM educational training and so forth and drew to promote cooperative events, including STEM Linghang’s president and seed teachers training, STEM Challenge contest of Chinese and British teenager engineers and Faraday contest of IET and other cooperative events.

In December 3, 2018, accompanied with teacher Liu Zhigang, the charger of future engineer project, Mr. David of IET, Joseph Du of China’s manager and FLE’s delegation come to Zhongguancun Middle School to observe and exchange. Liu Qi the deputy president of Zhongguancun Middle School, Guo Xiaoli boffin of Haidian Teachers’ Further Education School and school’s disciplinary representatives led everyone to visit school’s activity classes and laboratories and so forth, and invited experts to view STEM courses while the bilateral displayed exchange on current educational status and future improvement channel of STEM. David shared resources and experience of IET in British teenagers STEM education and school leaders shared STEM course characteristics and achieved fulfillment. The bilateral parties expressed that they both benefited a lot from it

In the afternoon, the representative of future engineer organizing committee and representative of IET visited FLE Chinese office to hold exchange, three representatives exchanged opinions on cooperative form of Chinese British events in five years and depth cooperation of relevant field in the future and reached cooperative consensus on events title, match form, course-oriented contest project , Sino-UK resources configuration and so forth. Afterwards, three parties signed on future five years of cooperation on Sino-UK future engineer contest. According to the cooperation agreement, future engineer organizing committee officially entrusted IET to act as joint sponsor off “STEM challenge contest of future engineer of Sino-UK teenagers”, FLE will continue to act as exclusive sponsor of British events and respective parties will configure their own advantages and resources to establish a information platform for study and exchange in STEM field for China and British. And all parties will actively promote exchange and development of Sino-UK STEM education. The discussion made three parties reached an all-round cooperation in organization structure of events, future planning and so forth, which will help to promote the events to international level.
